I was watching Fajr Al-3alam (Dawn of the World) the other day when a song came on. It's sung by Rim Banna. It's a very beautiful song but what I liked most were the lyrics, so when I looked them up I found them to be a part of this poem :)

you learn from your mistakes

I baked one of Martha's cupcakes today..they turned out to be a big disappointment.
my 3 year old cousins seemed to love them though..

I think it was because I mixed all the ingrediets together at once instead of mixing some first then adding the rest..oh well :) I learned my mistake.

Mental Notes:
1- Don't forget to check on cupcakes every now and then.
2- READ instructions CAREFULLY.

I will not lose faith in myself and my baking abilities..I know I'm good. even though all my past expirements have proven that last statement to be wrong.

I don't think i'm going to try out other recipes anytime soon. good night my pretties (*

Uni, burning cupcakes, and my birthday wish list :)

Ukh. Uni started yesterday.

And now that I'm retaking the two courses I failed last term, I'm not going to have any time for baking.

My time will be spent on Uni, studying, tutors, and even more studying.

I know I promised myself that once I get the books and tools I would start baking but I'm too lazy..

well, to be completely honest..I did bake chocolate brownie cupcakes (I made them from scratch, didn't use any ready-made mixes!) and they smelled heavenly!

but I left them unattended for what seemed like FIVE minutes so they got burrrrned...I nearly had a heart attack! Seriously it was one of the scariest moments of my life!! Smoke was coming out of the oven :o

gaharrr I know :(

Anyway, moving on to a more cheerful subject..I decided what I wanted for my birthday

This year I would like to recieve some books :D

Book#1 Martha Strwart's Encyclopedia of Crafts by Martha Stewart Living Magazine

I'm speechless :) I honestly cannot describe how bad I want this book!!

Book#2 Cookie Craft by Valerie Peterson and Janice Fryer

I'm not a sugar cookie fan..but I think they would look great on cupcakes.

Book#3 Creative Cookies by Toba Garrett

Another cookie book that looks interesting :)

Obviously, Those books aren't the only ones I want :P I've decided I wanted a Kindle and 20 books for my 20th birthday :)

Will browse for more books and update my list whenever I'm free!

Cupcake books!!

Obviously, I adore cupcakes!
I love decorating cupcakes..I even took a Wilton decorating course..it was fun fun funnn!!
I learned so many great and useful techniques..but their icing is a bit too sweet for me..and I thought their food colors have that inky flavor so I'm not a big fan when it comes to their recipes and stuff :p


I just like their techniques and decorating tips :D
I've a couple of tips from the course, but I'm that kind of person that won't be satisfied until I have the whole package..So I ordered them :D and they're one their way to me! AS WE SPEAK :D

Who isn't aware of Magnolia Bakery :) Known for their unbelievably delicious cupcakes, Jennifer Apple & Allysa Torey founded this bakery and it was an immediate success! People from all over the States fly to New York just to try there sweets!! This is Ms. Torey's second book..the first book's reviews weren't as good as this book..so I thought I'd get this one :D



My second order is.. Crazy About Cupcakes - Krystina Castella







I bought this book based on the fact that it got no 1-star reviews..and most of its reviews were 5-stars. Also, this book claims it has nearly 300 awesome cupcake ideas :D and its 256 pages long..and I loooove big books so I ordered it :)




The third and last book I ordered is Martha Stewart's Cupcakes: 175 Inspired Ideas for Everyone's Favorite Treat











I've been waiting for this book since forever! and I forgot about it for a while..so when I found this book while browsing..I immediately ordered it! I didn't bother reading the reviews cuz I trust Martha and I don't care what people say of her let alone her books :p I think I'm excited the most about this book :D no no scratch that..all the excitement I'm feeling is caused by this book!

I guess I have to let go now. I don't want to, but I feel like if I hang on for any longer it will simply drive me crazy. a part of me just won't let me let you go and is still holding onto you, telling me you're different and that it's worth the wait. It was just too fast and now it really hurts. Things you've said are fading but I still get too happy when I think about you and the things we shared and talked about. Maybe I won't let go, maybe I'm not supposed to and if you ever come back in talking reach I'll have an open mind about you, still. I always knew you were going to be the first person I'll fall in love with. It just made sense to think that. I don't know, I don't want to regret typing this with the chance you might ever check to just see or whatever. But I have no other way of talking to you, which makes you less real and pulls you away from me even more. I guess you just raised the bar for others. You're what I want and my soul will have to wait for another. Waiting is the hardest thing I'll have to endure for a while.
